Every TCA camp features a star visit from a current or former professional player*.
A great opportunity to learn from the best!
*star visits cancelled for summer 2021 due to COVID complications

The development centre offers children the opportunity to receive top quality coaching from ECB qualified coaches in small coaching groups.

Want to train like the pros or just have some cricket fun?
We’ve got a programme for you!
For children aged 5-14 years old.

Our ambassadors, England cricketers Dom Bess and Heather Knight, have helped develop our programme to give boys and girls the opportunity to develop their cricketing skills through innovative games, coaching and match play.

Every Academy features a STAR VISIT from Dom Bess, Heather Knight, or one of their current or ex-professional friends. During a visit they will join in coaching sessions, take part in challenges against the camp, pass on top tips that helped them reach the top, face a grueling Q&A from the children and of course hang around to provide any selfies and autographs!

The Cricket Academy is for all children, whether they are taking their first steps in to cricket, looking to hang out with friends during the summer or push themselves to develop to the next level. Our Academy comes in 3 varieties (check your venue for full details of what is available).

TCA Let’s Play Cricket is a full day camp focussed on learning through gameplay. Children will take part in a day packed full of cricket games, activities and challenges. The camp introduces and develops basic and intermediate cricketing concepts in a fun learning environment.

TCA Development Centre is a half day (9.30am-12.30pm) programme for children aged 10+ that offers children in-depth technical, tactical and skills based coaching. ECB Level 2 and 3 qualified coaches work with small groups of children to provide detailed individual feedback to drive development.

TCA offers the opportunity to book on both the LET’S PLAY CRICKET and DEVELOPMENT CENTRES at one venue on the same week, simply select the DEVELOPMENT CENTRE session in the morning and the remainder of the day is spent on the LET’S PLAY CRICKET camp.

Unfortunately due to COVID complications, we have taken the decision to cancel all star visits for this summer.

The ECB Hundred COVID guidance has limited our star visit pool significantly, which in turn has added more COVID risk to our camps, with stars needing to visit more venues, more children and more areas of the country.

We will still have Batfast coming onto many of our camps and we’ve invested in new equipment to make sure children are still receiving the best cricketing experience this summer.

Star Visits

Ambassador Heather Knight

A true star of the women’s game, Heather has visited several of our cricket camps over the past 3 years.

She is currently the England women’s captain after taking over from Charlotte Edwards in 2016 and has accumulated over 100 ODI caps. In 2018 Heather was named as one of the five Wisden Cricketers of the Year for her part in England’s 2017 World Cup win. Heather has also been recognised by The Queen for her contributions to cricket with an OBE!

Ambassador Dom Bless

Dom has already given plenty of time to our cricket camps, having visited many of our venues over the past 2 years.

Dom initially made his name with Somerset CCC after his County Championship debut in 2019. His first 2 championship wickets were former England Test Stars Ian Bell and Jonathan Trott. In August 2020, Dom announced that he would be leaving Somerset CCC to join Yorkshire CCC for 2021 and beyond. Dom is a current England International having represented the Test team since 2018 and took his maiden Test five-wicket haul against South Africa in January 2020!

BatFast Cricket Simulators are coming to The Cricket Academy this summer!

Selected TCA venues will feature a full day visit from the team at BatFast to provide children with the experience of a lifetime.

Every child on camp will get the opportunity to face the BatFast simulator. The simulators are controlled with a tablet, which will provide our coaches with the ability to adapt the simulator for every child and set unique challenges and games. Every shot is stored on the BatFast system to provide a wagon wheel to see if you can really hit it 360!
