TAKE THE CHALLENGE, BE AT YOUR BEST

The Cricket Academy 5-7s

Coaching Programme

The Cricket Academy

The Cricket Academy coaching programme has been created with a focus on encouraging young cricketers to have fun and express themselves. The camps offer an exciting experience for 5-7 year olds to take their first steps in to cricket.

Through engaging, innovative and fun sessions, TCA creates a learning environment where children of all abilities can enjoy the sport of cricket.

AGE APPROPRIATE

The Cricket Academy for children aged 5-7 years is a fun learning environment where children can explore the game of cricket and develop fundamental skills through cricket, hand-eye coordination, movement and multi activity sessions.

We understand that children in this age group are not ready for heavy technical sessions, so we introduce them to games that improve fine motor skills, build confidence and a give a general understanding of cricket and other hand-eye coordination sports.

Our aim at the end of the course is to have smiling enthusiastic children going home with a basic understanding of the game!

SESSIONS

Our Lower Order programme has child welfare at the centre of our delivery; our qualified staff have a wealth of experience working with the key stage 1 age group.

We understand that children learn best when sessions are short, varied, and with lots of movement. Children are introduced to throwing and catching games, with different sized soft balls, along with versatile targets.

Team games such as kwick cricket, dodgeball, diamond cricket and crazy catch keep our Lower Order engaged and having fun. When children need some down time to recharge staff deliver our fun work book sessions, including flag colouring, word searches and quizzes.

ACTIVATE GAMES

The Activate Games Tournament is the showpiece event of the Activate Games!

The tournament is the ultimate showdown where mixed-age teams showcase their skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship in challenges and games such as diamond cricket, padding-up relay, cricket golf, pavilion cricket and more. All mixed-age games are delivered with safety in mind, ensuring that younger participants aren’t at risk.

All participants are encouraged to wear team colours for the day!

The team with the most points at the end of the tournament is crowned the Activate Games Champions!
