Activate Camps Staff are passionate about children leading a healthy lifestyle through sport and activities.
We have trained managers at every site who come from a variety of different backgrounds. We actively recruit primary school teachers, PGCE students, childcare professionals and highly qualified sports and activity staff in order to ensure that our camps are as safe and effective as possible and that we exceed the high standards set and expected by Ofsted.
We recognize the importance of health and safety and child welfare and as such we are the only provider of our kind that has training developed in partnership with Cardinus Risk Management and approved by the International Institute of Risk and Safety Management. All of our staff, whether they are an assistant coach or regional manager, take part in our approved online training.

Biographies from some of our staff can be seen below
Jen began playing football at primary school when she was 6 years old and played for a boys team until she was 10 before joining a girls team.
She has played ever since! She represents Durham WFC in the FA Women's Super League 2 which is the top tier of female football in the country, regularly playing against International players. Her position is centre back although she can also play right back. In addition to playing, she also coaches a local U11s girls football team which is something she finds extremely rewarding.
Jen is also a PE teacher in a Secondary School and have been teaching for two years. She began working for Activate Sport in 2010 as a Sports Instructor, and for the last two years has been a Camp Manager on Gold Medal Academy and Multi-Sport & Activity Camps around the Yorkshire area.
James enjoys playing and watching most sports particularly football and cricket. His first introduction to Football was as an infant kicking a ball around in the street and challenging himself against older kids in the local area. This led to joining junior football clubs from the age of 7. He still plays at amateur level and have no intentions of hanging up his boots any time soon!
James has worked for Activate Sport for 6 years on a variety of projects including AFCA, GMA, MSA and various rugby camps. He has also been involved with term-time projects with the Activate Sport Foundation.
James currently works with the Activate Fun franchise and has coached both at home and abroad. James proudly boasts a previous employer as Blackburn Rovers FC Academy and Development centres.
